Dr. Antoine Eskander
Dr. Eskander is the Chief of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Michael Garron Hospital and the endocrine surgery lead at that site. He is also a head and neck oncologist and reconstructive surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. His clinical practice is devoted to thyroid and parathyroid surgery, salivary gland surgery, skin cancer surgery and head and neck cancer surgery including reconstruction. Dr. Eskander is one of the first Canadian thyroid experts to perform ablative non-surgical therapy (radiofrequency ablation and alcohol ablation) for benign and hyperfunctioning thyroid nodules. He earned his H.B.Sc. in Integrative Biology at the University of Toronto (U of T) before attending medical school at U of T. He completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health and pursued a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology/Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Kevin Higgins
Dr. Higgins is a head and neck surgical oncologist/microvascular reconstructive surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He was born and raised in Toronto, and completed his Bachelor of Sciences at Queen’s University and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Toronto. Dr. Higgins continued his education with postgraduate training and surgical training, including at the University of Toronto where he served as Chief Resident, ENT/Head and Neck Surgery, and at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Higgins is one of the first Canadian thyroid experts to perform ablative non-surgical therapy (radio frequency ablation) for benign and hyperfunctioning thyroid nodules and also was the lead of the first Canadian course on RFA.
